Has Google forgotten you exist? Whose responsibility is that?

Is your website lost? If you haven’t been tending to your website, I’m fairly confident Google has all but forgotten about you. When Google forgets you, nobody else online stands a chance of discovering you.

There are lots of reasons, some of them good, as to how or why a website gets lost. Time and Budget are the two most common causes followed by difficulty to update and maintain. I stopped counting the times I hear “when I have the time, I don’t have the budget” – and vice versa. While that is a reality of life, it isn’t a viable excuse. If you are in business today, you must make the time and find the budget to invest in your website.

In 2003, as a new start-up company, we explored the options available that would allow our clients to effectively and efficiently manage their website. From that was born Interport, a Content Management System (CMS) that is interactive, responsive and most importantly, easy to use. And because we are budget sensitive, we believe it is offered at a reasonable cost.

Thus, Interport resolves both of the primary obstacles of website management – Time and Budget.

So what is Interport and what is a Content Management System - and why does it accomplish those things?

Interport is our CMS built on a Dot Net Nuke (DNN) foundation. DNN is an application rooted in Microsoft and is now supported by the DotNetNuke Corporation located in Spokane Washington. There are literally thousands of developers worldwide that create modules (functionality) and graphical templates for DNN. We’ve acquired the license (and source code) for a number of modules that we’ve assembled together to become Interport. And in some cases, our clients require functionality that simply doesn’t exist so we create custom applications that become part of Interport. It’s the entirety of these components that gives Interport its uniqueness.
